I have been helping individuals to make positive life changes for more than 25 years, using a variety of types of therapy/ counseling approaches.
In 2008, I obtained my NYS License to provide Mental Health Counseling.
I believe my role as a therapist is to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which the individual can explore their own values and goals, assist in creating action plans and to provide help developing natural supports, strategies and coping skills.
I work to foster wellness and growth in each individual to allow them to live the life they have chosen as fully as possible.
I have been practicing my craft for more than 20 years and use a variety of approaches depending on the individual and their goals. Motivational Interviewing and Stages of Changes have always spoken to me on a deep level.
I have completed Specialized Training in:
Overusing substances can be a coping mechanism but this can have unwanted results such as challenges in relationships with friends and loved ones, work related issues and financial strains. Through working together, you can develop healthy coping skills and decrease the negative effects of substance overuse.
Adolescence is a challenging time and sometimes we need some help in exploring and learning about who we truly are, what our values and beliefs are and how these interact within our family.
Working together in a safe and respectful environment I will help you to identify your core self and to be able to articulate that to others.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I am able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Stress is a very common experience but it can become debilitating if not addressed. We will work collaboratively to identify the roots of your stress and develop strategies to manage and decrease your negative stressors.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples and families who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection and improve communication, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with couples or family members and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
